Memory sticks are nothing new, are they? (Go to top)
No they aren't. However they are not being utilised to their best advantage within the education sector. Part of the 'Memory 4 Teachers' Initiative aims to change the way that teachers use this technology in order to achieve maximum benefits all round.
Don't teachers already have memory sticks? (Go to top)
Yes of course some teachers already use memory sticks. But many more do not. Furthermore teachers are not using the memory sticks on a regular basis. Memory Sticks 4 Teachers aims to change this.
An additional point is that many teachers already 'dip into their own pockets' for all nature of resources in the classroom. It is not realistic to expect teachers to continue to financially support educational developments.
Why are you giving memory sticks away for free? (Go to top)
Good question. The governments of USA and France have already developed and delivered USB Sticks to their educators with embedded resources. Memory 4 Teachers is now bringing this programme to the UK.
What is the capacity of the memory stick? (Go to top)
The memory stick has a 2 GB memory capacity. Feedback from educators suggests this is more than enough capacity to meet their needs.
So what's actually on the memory stick? (Go to top)
The memory sticks are embedded with a range of educational resources for teachers. These resources cover a wide range of subject areas and provide lesson plans, worksheets, templates, ideas and inspiration for teachers completely free of charge. In addition there are links to select websites, a calendar for teachers and the latest education news.
Of course, there is also an area where Project Partners' content will appear.
Is there any memory left for the teachers to use as storage? (Go to top)
Of course there is. We expect that there will be more than enough storage space available after all the educational resources and tools have been embedded on the memory stick.
How is the memory stick being distributed? (Go to top)
We have broken the country down into 12 regions. The memory stick is being distributed by region. Project Partners can appear in any number of regions. To find out more details please visit the Distribution page.
What is the life expectancy of the project? (Go to top)
The project has a longevity of 5 years and we offer this guarentee on the devices.
What happens if a teacher loses their stick or it breaks? (Go to top)
If one unexpectedly breaks or is lost we will replace it free of charge.
How can we update our content on the memory stick? (Go to top)
In conjunction with the memory stick we are developing a new web channel where teachers will be able to download new updates and resources to their memory stick?
